Weizhi Zhou

Exposure is a journey of memory. Through the story of a character who loses his camera during a journey through the Chinese landscape, the film attempts to explore the fragmentation and elusiveness of memory.

The images and voices recorded by the character during his journey faded into obscurity, but they left a deep mark on his heart. Through the images of different media, the characters are depicted in the mountains, forests, rivers, and ancient temples to resonate with nature.

As a medium of memory, the mistakes and omissions of technology reveal the face of memory itself. The audience will follow the footsteps of the characters, feel the eternity and moments of the natural landscape in the passage of time, and think about the calibration of memory between history and nature.

Through this exploration, we re-examine our own memories and existences, and discover the deep meanings hidden in the Chinese landscape.
